Do You Want Your Parents To Be Able To Remote View?
Every system we provide will allow you to have Administrative Remote Access and Remote Live View Monitoring capabilities – for you and your staff – but not all of the camera systems we deliver are designed to support Parent Remote View.
Often, Parent Remote View allows Child Care Facilities to create a new revenue source by charging Parents a small fee to view their children remotely. And there is certainly nothing wrong with additional revenue – especially when you make more than you would need to cover the costs of the All-Inclusive Monthly Fee for a new camera system.
However, I feel it’s important that you wholly consider all of the benefits and ramifications of allowing your Parents a virtual window to inside your facility. Beyond the business considerations associated with a Parent Remote View, you must also consider (and know) there are additional technology requirements (beyond just having an IP camera system) if you want to make sure your Parent Remote View works appropriately – and consistently – for your Parents. You have to have the right Video Server that allows:
- Multiple “Live Stream” viewing sessions
that would allow an appropriate number of concurrent Remote Streaming Sessions - Multiple User Accounts with Simultaneous Access
that would allow for an appropriate number of simultaneous Log In’s - Video Segmentation by User Account
that would ONLY allow Parents only get to see rooms their child is in
There is also a lot of other considerations – beyond the server – and we can most certainly help you get everything you need to ensure a wonderful Parent Remote View experience. But, there really are a lot of aspects that must be considered, included and they all must work together effectively.
One the absolute, most important aspects is a *SOLID* Internet Service Connection – and as you already know (I’m sure, all too well), that “Solid Internet” just isn’t always the case around here.
